May Family Fishing Report for Destin

The inshore bite has been heating up right along with the weather. We’ve had a great run of Spanish mackerel in the Destin Harbor lately — fast action and fun for all skill levels. That bite is starting to thin out though, as water temps continue to rise and those fish move out to deeper water.
The trout bite is starting to pick up nicely, especially early mornings and around moving water. If you’re looking to target them, now’s a good time to get on the water.
As for redfish, I’ve been on them steady for the past month. We’re finding them stacked up around deeper docks on low tide and cruising the grass flats during high tide. Whether you’re after a hard fight or just some inshore action with the family, it’s a solid time to book a trip.
